Trust Accounting - Assign a Trust Account to a Matter
A matter may have a trust account associated with it. If you only have one trust account then that account is assigned by default to every matter. If you have multiple trust accounts then a single trust account must be assigned to the matter in order for trust funds to be associated with the matter.
Select the Client module > Matter tab
Enter the File number and click OK to open the matter
Enter the Trust Account number in the Bank Acct field and click Accept:
Tip! In any Bank Account field you can enter "G" and then tab to display a list of general office accounts or "T" and then tab to display a list of trust accounts.
Important! Once trust transactions have been posted to a matter, the trust account cannot be changed for that matter. If a matter has multiple trust accounts, unique matter cards must be set up for each trust account.
