Create a New Trust Bank Account

Create New GL Accounts:

New Asset and Liability General Ledger Accounts must be created. These will be assigned to the new trust account.

Select the GL module.

Click the "New" icon:

Select "Chart of Account" and click OK:

Enter an Asset GL Number and a Description. Click Accept:

Click the "New" icon again.

Enter a Liability GL Number and a Description. Click Accept:

Create a New Bank:

From the Brief Accounting Home screen, select the Bank icon and click New:

Enter the new bank name and click the tab key:

Click OK when prompted to create a new bank:

Enter the bank details and Accept:

The Bank Account screen is displayed.

Create the New Account:

Enter the Account number.

Leave the Type as "Trust Account".

Enter the Asset and Liability GL numbers as created above:

 

 

Select "Check Printing On" if applicable. Also set the next check and receipt numbers if required.

Click Accept when finished.
