Timing an Activity

Time activities can be timed using a timer to record the length of a task. The timer may be stopped and restarted at anytime should the time activity be interrupted or stopped and started.

To start the timer, click on the timer icon. The text below the timer will change from "Start" to "Stop" when the timer is timing an activity. The running time is also displayed under the timer.

To stop the time, click the timer icon again while it is running. The amount of time will be shown under the timer and Brief Accounting will populate the time for the activity rounding to 6 minute increments:

Once the timer is stopped, the time displayed under the timer icon may be edited. This may be used if there was time worked on the activity either before or after the timer was used.

While the timer is running (or stopped), the description of the time activity may be edited as necessary. For example, notes can be added during a phone call.
